It has been a busy last two weeks. Last week marked the end of our 1st quarter. We celebrated last Friday with a Fall Festival. Students were allowed to wear costumes. Some wore native dress outfits, others were creative with their ideas and with who they represented. We had a fun hour of games in the school yard a the end of the day. The HS students were each given supplies and hand to design a game that the elementary students could then play. We had some creative ideas!

Earthquake Awareness day in Portugal
Today we took part in an earthquake drill, which was part of earthquake awareness. My class was in the computer lab when the time came for us to practice finding protection under tables or standing under a doorway. The last time I remember feeling an earthquake was many years ago when Chuck and I were taking classes at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. They had a very rare mild earthquake while we were there that summer.

Government Class: Students are digging and and examining the advantages and disadvantages to the states or the federal government with the Articles of Confederation.

Our school pet for the week. Students and staff enjoyed our little visitor for several days. One of the students took her home to adopt if no one claims her. She looks like a younger version of our “Miles” that we loved and had for many years.
