Special End of Year Activities: Some in Portuguese and Some in Water

This has been a busy week with special learning activities bringing some courses to completion. Our Elementary Portuguese classes had to use their Portuguese language to enjoy a Portuguese Café experience. Students, along with Mrs. Gomes and Miss Taylor walked down to the café and students had to use their skills both ordering and paying for their orders. It was a warm day so the gelato seemed to be the favorite of the day.

Last Chapel for the year was led by special guests. Senior trip students from the Union Grove Christian School in Wisconsin led the singing and shared the love of God in a very unique way – using the colors of Jelly Bellies.

Physical Education classes wrapped up with a special water activity day. Mrs. Beatty along with a few of our HS students and  senior trip students from the Union Grove Christian School helped make this day memorable. Students played many games, all of which involved water and getting soaked. Some of the little brothers and sisters of students joined the activities as well. All had a splashing good time.

GLCA Field Day with Word of Life Partners

The long anticipated Field Day has arrived and God has blessed us with a warm sunny day to enjoy the out of doors. What fun the students are having! Word of Life Portugal has partnered with us and they have organized the morning with games for all ages. It is so fun watching how our older students work so well to encourage and include thinking and participation of all within their activity groups. Late morning we took about 15 minutes for the raw egg challenge in which some of the GLCA teachers and Word of Life staff took turns finding out if their egg was raw or cooked. See the video to watch one of the rounds. This afternoon we will enjoy a soccer and volleyball game as well as other special activities.  I have posted some pictures so that you can see some of the highlights on this special day.
