Moving forward

We praise God for answers to many prayers. On April 27th the movers arrived to pack up our belongings. April 29th Linda signed papers for the sale of our home in Carlisle, Ia.

We moved to Carlisle in 1986. Alicia our youngest started 1st grade, Heather, 3rd and Chris began 5th grade here. This community has been our home for 30 years. We have journeyed through life for the past 30 years and have watched each of our children go from elementary school to graduates from high school and college. We opened our home and hearts to our Finish and Japanese exchange daughters and were enriched because of them. We have been blessed through the extension of our families through the weddings of our two daughters at Missionary Baptist Church, our missionary sending church in Carlisle. As with all families we have endured life’s ups and downs but chose to focus on the multitude of God’s rich blessings where we have been surrounded by family and friends. As we bring closure to our time in Carlisle, we are reminded of the wonderful people that we have been blessed to call friends.
It is very strange feeling to place almost all of our belongings into storage and truly have no idea of where home will be, or when we will be able to search for that special place. At this point it seems prudent to wait to purchase a new home until we know for sure that our work visas are approved and we return back to the US after the this upcoming teaching ministry in Portugal. However, right now we are looking forward to enjoying the summer with our families and eagerly anticipate the return “home” to Lisbon, Portugal and our new Greater Lisbon Christian Academy friends and colleagues.
