Encouragement Week

February 13-17 students and staff at GLCA participated in Encouragement Week. Thanks to Olivia’s project, a few moments of time during this special week were captured for you to enjoy.

Since we are talking about “encouragement” there is no better time than now to share something special about one of our students. One of Ana’s teachers from another center shared that Ana had won a coloring contest at their facility. So, to encourage Ana, and all budding artists, I want to post her winning picture. Way to go Ana!

Students in our room were also working to encourage our friends in York, Pennsylvania by writing to them about Encouragement Week. Below are the special letters to our friends:

Encouragement from our Nepalese Friends

The first Friday of February we had the opportunity to have our friends Daniel Waiba Tamang and James Tamang come and speak to the student body during chapel. Daniel was a Pastor in Nepal and attends our church at Riverside International Church in Cascais, Portugal. Daniel and James visited and ate lunch with the students. This informal time allowed the students the opportunity to visit with our special guests ahead of their chapel presentation. We were pleased to have Daniel share about his family and friends and life back in Nepal. He also had the opportunity to clearly present the gospel to our students. Daniel’s little boy, Joel, came with him and many of the girls were happy to take time to hold and/or play with our little visitor. Chuck and I were thrilled to have the students meet our friends, Daniel, James, and little Joel.
